One proud plant!

Who can resist this firework style display of orange red and yellow in a summer garden. The Mexican Bird of paradise, or Pride of Barbados is an outstanding Texas superstar plant boasting drought tolerance, summer long blooms, and perennial return on the investment. The plant can get 5-6 feet tall and wide, creating a spectacular display, even on 100 degree days like we've had lately. Stop in and see all of our drought tolerant selections at the nursery this season!

There is always hope in my garden!

The word esperanza means hope in Spanish, and how can you not be hopeful looking out the window on these beautiful plants. They seem to thrive in the heat here in south Texas. Esperanza is just one of the many examples of heat tolerant/drought tolerant plants that we carry here at the nursery. Don't let the long summer San Antonio days get you down. Take hope in the fact that every season brings something to be thankful for when you garden!
Keep cool San Antonio ~Donna
